Job Title: Seasonal Snow Plow Operator

Employment Type: Seasonal / Temporary (Winter Season: November – April)

Pay Rate: $25 – $35 / hour

Location: Buffalo, NY

Position Overview

We are seeking reliable, attentive Seasonal Snow Plow Operators to clear commercial parking lots, public roadways, and residential routes during the upcoming winter season. You will operate heavy equipment, snow plows, and salt spreaders to ensure safe conditions during winter weather events. This is an on-call, weather-dependent role requiring availability during night, weekend, and holiday storms.

Key Responsibilities

Operate snow plows, salt spreaders, loaders, and pickup trucks with plow attachments safely and efficiently.

Clear designated routes, parking lots, driveways, and roadways according to client specifications and safety standards.

Pre-treat surfaces with salt, brine, or ice-melt before and during winter storms.

Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance issues promptly.

Maintain clear communication with dispatch and route supervisors during weather events.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating snow plows or commercial heavy equipment.

Licensing: Valid Driver’s License required. (CDL Class A or B preferred for heavy equipment roles). Clean driving record.

Availability: 24/7 on-call availability throughout the winter season, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods in winter driving conditions and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Knowledge: Familiarity with local routes, winter driving techniques, and equipment safety procedures.
