Semi-Trailer Repair Technician (Experienced)

Position: Semi-Trailer Repair Technician

Experience Required: Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on semi-trailer repair experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Semi-Trailer Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience performing all major and minor trailer repairs, , suspension work, axle replacement, welding, fabrication, including structural repairs, frame modifications and liftgate installation and repair. We are looking for a self-motivated technician who takes pride in producing safe, high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair all types of semi-trailers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, structural, and air system issues.
• Repair and replace trailer suspensions, axles, wheel ends, brakes, and hubs.
• Repair or replace trailer floors, doors, and rear frames.
• Perform major structural frame repairs, straightening, rebuilding, and modifications.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electric liftgates.
• Perform welding and fabrication using MIG, stick, and plasma cutting equipment.
• Trailer modifications and custom fabrication projects.
• Inspect trailers for DOT compliance and safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Communicate repair findings with the service team and complete work efficiently.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of experience in semi-trailer repair.
• Strong knowledge of suspension systems, axles, brakes, landing gear, and air systems.
• Experience with structural repairs, frame rebuilding, and trailer modifications.
• Experience repairing and installing liftgates.
• Excellent welding and fabrication skills.
• Ability to read repair orders and work independently.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding work.

Preferred Experience

• Dry vans, flatbeds, chassis, refrigerated and specialty trailers.
• Major repairs.
• Aluminum and steel welding and fabrication.
