Senior Production Tech/Working Foreman (Commercial Roofing)

Metro Property Services, Inc. dba Metro Commercial Roofing serves commercial property managers, building owners, and facility managers in Northeast Florida for 35 years. We are actively seeking a Senior Production Technician/Working Foreman for our Production Department.

The candidate for this position will be a working foreman who coordinates activities and tasks on roofing job sites involving installation of commercial roof systems. The roofing supervisor will ensure timely professional and courteous response to customers and work with other onsite trades in the same manner. Additionally, he/she will install, waterproof and/or repair sheet metal, flashings, drains, gutters, and all related roof components.

Position Details:

• Provide written estimates of labor and materials to Roof Manager
• Climb ladders; not afraid of heights; work at heights
• Take pictures of job sites before and after work
• Assign and supervise job site tasks of production projects from start to finish
• Motivate employees to work together as a team
• Train new or inexperienced roofers
• Maintain a clean job site
• May perform carpentry work related to roofing projects
• Pre-plan for daily activities, materials/equipment needed
• Manage schedule and resources to complete projects on deadline and on budget
• Maintaining and keeping track of receipts
• Operate hand/electric/power tools
• Communicate production schedule with Management, GCs and building contacts
• Coordinate in-progress and final inspections with manufacturer reps and building department inspectors
• Follow company and OSHA safety guidelines, check safety conditions on job site
• Inspect work of others and ensure company standards are met on every project
• Complete paperwork either in writing or on phone/computer as required
• Attend safety meetings and other training
• Ensure proper care of tools, equipment, and vehicles

Qualifications/Requirements:

• English literacy
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building plans
• Knowledge of building codes
• Have a current valid driver's license with less than 6 points, no history of DUI or reckless/careless driving, and be able to be included on company’s auto insurance
• Have balance, stamina, strength and ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• Familiar with building codes, uplift calculations, manufacturer's installation- Have interpersonal skills, professional demeanor in customer and company encounters
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience
