Roofing Service Advisor — Job Description and Duties

Position Summary

The Roofing Service Advisor is responsible for coordinating and completing roofing service work, scheduling final job walkarounds, communicating with customers, following up on collections, and keeping accurate service records. This position requires organization, dependable attendance, professional customer service, and the ability to complete roofing repairs safely and properly.

Work Hours and Weekly Schedule

Regular hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break.

Monday — Full Day in the Office

Monday is dedicated to organizing and planning the week. Responsibilities include:

Review open service requests, unfinished work, and customer concerns.

Call customers to schedule service appointments and final job walkarounds.

Coordinate with Tara, who can assist with scheduling.

Plan the week’s appointments, travel, materials, and service priorities.

Review outstanding balances and follow up on collections.

Attend the required Monday service meeting at 2:00 p.m. Be prepared to review your weekly schedule, planned activities, service progress, collections, and any issues needing attention.

Tuesday Through Friday — Service and Field Work

Office time should be limited to 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., only as needed for scheduling, paperwork, materials coordination, or other necessary office duties. The remainder of the workday should be devoted to scheduled service work, inspections, final job walkarounds, and customer follow-up in the field.

Primary Duties

Service Coordination and Customer Communication

Respond to service requests and communicate clearly with customers.

Confirm appointments and keep customers informed of scheduling changes.

Coordinate materials, equipment, and assistance needed to complete service work.

Keep Tara informed of your schedule, job status, and unresolved customer concerns.

Roofing Service and Repairs

Inspect reported roofing problems and identify the work needed.

Complete assigned repairs and service work according to company standards and applicable safety procedures.

Document findings, work performed, materials used, and any additional work needed.

Keep work areas clean and treat customers’ property with care.

If you sell a small service job, you are responsible for performing the work on that job.

Must know Asphalt repairs, Tpo repairs and metal

Collections and Recordkeeping

Follow up on outstanding customer balances as directed.

Keep accurate notes of collection conversations, payment commitments, and issues affecting payment.

Maintain current service records and report progress at the Monday service meeting.

Attendance and Scheduling Requirements

Be ready to begin work at 7:30 a.m.

If you are sick or cannot report at your normally scheduled time, call Tara and let her know as soon as possible.

Inform Tara promptly of any jobs or appointments that need to be rescheduled so customers can be notified and the schedule adjusted.

Company Vehicle Policy

TriState vehicles must remain at the shop at the end of each workday.

Company vehicles may not be used for personal purposes unless Tara authorizes the use in advance.

Keep company vehicles clean, organized, and properly stocked, and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.

Performance Expectations

The Roofing Service Advisor is expected to arrive on time, maintain an organized schedule, complete quality work, communicate promptly, follow through on customer commitments, and keep Tara informed of progress and problems.
