We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Service Electrician who can run their own truck and take care of customers from start to finish.
This is not a position for someone who only wants to be handed a set of prints and told what to install.
We’re looking for an electrician who can walk into a customer’s home or business, diagnose the problem, communicate clearly, offer solutions, price and present additional work, and get the job done.
The right person:
- Holds an Oregon General Journeyman (J) license
- Strong troubleshooting and service experience
- Comfortable working independently
- Excellent with homeowners and business customers
- Can explain electrical problems without confusing people
- Comfortable presenting prices and asking for the work
- Notices additional electrical issues and opportunities
- Understands the difference between helping a customer and being pushy
- Keeps a clean truck and professional appearance
- Documents work, takes photos, and communicates with the office
- Motivated by production and wants to make money
- Takes ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do
This is a sales-oriented service position.
We don’t want technicians selling customers things they don’t need. We do expect our electricians to look around, identify legitimate safety concerns and improvements, explain the options, and give the customer an opportunity to have the work completed.
If you hate talking to customers, this probably isn’t the position for you.
If you’re the electrician customers ask for by name, we want to talk to you.
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage + performance incentives
Schedule: Full-time
Service area: Portland metro / surrounding areas
