Service Journeyman Electrician

Service Journeyman Electricians at Grounded Innovations have advanced electrical skills to diagnose various
electrical issues on a daily basis. Duties include performing routine checks and maintenance on panels, breakers,switches, lighting components and many other electrical components while remaining eager to learn, grow, and
contribute to high-quality electrical work across residential and commercial construction projects. Under the
direction of a Service Foreman, the person in this role has 4-10 years of progressive electrical experience and is
confident in their knowledge and skills to independently and accurately perform installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.To be successful in this role, the person must have more than just technical skills. expected to take initiative, be a good problem- solver, own their growth, and consistently demonstrate respect,
integrity, and a positive attitude. In addition, the Service Journeyman is expected to validate all work and provide coaching and guidance to Apprentices or other Journeymen to continuously advance their skills and knowledge.

Essential Functions, Accountabilities, and Responsibilities:

-Install, repair, maintain, diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems on small- and large-scale residential or commercial construction projects with oversight/direction provided by a Service Foreman.
-Regularly utilize basic hand tools including linesman’s, wire strippers, screwdrivers, tape measures, cordless drill, and advanced tools including meters, specialty drivers (allan, torque), cordless tools (impact, sawzaw).
-Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to complete installations accurately and
efficiently.
-Understand, track, and execute change orders upon request and approval by Service Foreman.
-Provide Apprentices with daily direction and assign tasks on the job site; validate all work performed by
-Apprentices are accurate, meet job specs, and company standards.
-Ensure job site(s) is clean and orderly throughout the workday.
-Adhere to all company, OSHA, NEC and local electrical codes and safety protocols and standards.
-Take pride in keeping company owned tools organized, tracked, and accounted for on job site(s).
-Ensure company vehicles are stocked, maintained, and held to company cleanliness standards at all times.
-Communicate professionally with clients, coworkers, and project leaders to ensure clear expectations and
timely execution.
-Manage purchasing card transactions and provide required receipts/reporting as needed.
-Lead and mentor apprentices, fostering a learning environment built on respect, accountability, and
continuous improvement.
-Continuously learn from and accept coaching and/or feedback from Service Foreman and Owner to advance industry knowledge, apply new skills and techniques, and increase speed and efficiency; share knowledge
with others.

Minimum Essential Requirements:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved electrical apprenticeship program.
• Valid state Journeyman Electrician License (or willingness to obtain).
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• If operating company vehicle, must have valid driver’s license; ability to be insured on company policy; safely

operate a motor vehicle in various weather conditions including snow and ice.

• Advanced understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and safety regulations.
• Comfortable working with hand and power tools, conduit bending, wire pulling, and panel terminations.
• Ability to use applicable equipment and instruments.
• Ability to operate with enthusiasm, and a positive, proactive “no-job-is-below-me” attitude.
• Ability to exercise good judgment regarding project related decisions.
