Come join our team as a Service Technician-Plumber! We’re currently looking for Service Technician-Plumber candidates that bring experience, skill, passion, and a drive to learn, with a desire grow & advance their careers. Are you sick of dirty old crawlspace work? Are you tired of going to work clean and coming home a mess? We are looking for a plumbing warranty technician with excellent investigative and diagnostic skills. These are mostly new homes, all of which are built on basements and slabs. This is perfect for the experienced plumber or handyman that wants to give their body a much-needed break.
Service Technicians diagnose and repair/replace plumbing problems to all applicable codes. Uphold all R.T. Moore quality standards. Perform all on-call duties in a designated rotation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform residential and commercial service calls independently with high accuracy.
- Repair or replace plumbing per code in an efficient manner.
- Arrive at the office by 7 am every morning unless otherwise approved by the Plumbing Field Superintendent.
- Report to the dispatched after every completed job to optimize the schedule.
- Follow R.T. Moore Quality Standards and Best Practices.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked truck to perform daily service calls and achieve one call resolutions.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to the Plumbing Field Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Motivated work ethic
- Clear verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with a team
- Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to read, write, and interpret reports and documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Critical thinking skills and ability to solve problems independently
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- 4 years of experience preferred
WORKING CONDIDTIONS
- Well-lighted heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting
- Exposed to outdoor weather conditions including rain, humidity, snow, wind, cold, and heat
- The environment may include very loud noises, working near mechanical and moving parts, working at various heights, and small, awkward, confining workspace.
- There is the possibility of inhalation of fumes and airborne particles as well as risk of electrical shock and vibrations.
- Must be able to do the following activities for most of the workday: stand, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, see, talk and hear.
- Must be able to climb or balance regularly.
- Near constant lifting or carrying of items of various weight, typically up to 10 pounds most of the day. Capable of lifting at least 100 pounds on occasion.
- Manual dexterity is sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday
LOCATION: On-site
SALARY: Hourly nonexempt $30-$35 hourly
