Service & Warranty Technician (TAMPA)

Description

We are busy and not slowing down!! WE NEED a person with solid handyman skills: a technician able to do light carpentry (Siding work) and painting jobs. We need a good HANDYMAN!!
This position also includes working in one-off situations such as staining handrails, staining front doors, stair treads and risers or wood accent ceilings.
This is an hourly position with paid overtime doing service and warranty work in customers’ homes. The selected person should be able to work with both latex-based paints and oil based stains. This is a full time 40 hour+ work week. We offer health benefits/paid time off/ 401K retirement plan - room for advancement.

Service/Warranty Department Job Description:

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to (other duties may be assigned):

Service Technicians:

  • Technicians should arrive on time as scheduled.
  • Dressed cleanly and neatly ready for work in a customer’s home.
  • Ready for the day by unloading and loading in a timely manner.
  • All daily work and timekeeping need to be completed in Jobber application.
  • Will not clock in until first stop travel from home to first stop should not be clocked in. Must clock out at last stop. Unless assigned to main office.
  • Must take before and after photos of all work and upload to jobber at each stop prior to leaving.
  • Additional notes must be added to jobber application floor clarifying of work completed.
  • All work scheduled to associate technician is expected to be completed. Any field issue preventing that needs supervisor assistance/approval prior to exiting a work site.
responsibilities listed but not limited to:
  • Apply stains and clear coats per instructions and final sand and clear. Ready for customer acceptance.
  • Be able to paint walls and trim and know the proper techniques for application of each product.
  • Be able to work with small power tools such as circular saws, miter saws, Sawzall’s, grinders,
Nail guns, basic hand tools, hammers, cats’ claws, pry bars, pliers, wrenches.
  • Must have a basic general knowledge of construction methods and ask questions prior to starting jobs.
  • Work professionally with homeowners to provide a pleasant experience both inside and outside of their homes. Does not offer any commentary on prior workmanship. Must keep conversation strictly to task at hand nothing more.
  • Report to supervisor any necessary or additional service trips the manager may be unaware of. It is never acceptable to schedule or promise any return trips directly with the homeowner.
  • Work professionally with other contractors and trades to provide a pleasant experience both inside and outside of homes or units we work on.
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs. individually or assist a lift of more than 60 lbs.
  • Able to climb a ladder either “A” frame or extension up to 40 feet individually with assistance over 32 feet.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, twist while working and always utilize OSHA practices.
  • Must be able to work for extended periods of time working on both low and high areas utilizing OSHA practices.
  • Work outside in a non-temperature-controlled environment for periods up to 8 hours
  • We follow the Painting contractor’s association (PDCA) guidelines for industry quality standards and timeline for paint task completions.
  • Company to provide all OSHA approved PPE as requested/required.
