Description
Position Summary: Direct Path Corporation is seeking a dependable, hardworking Shades Installer to join our Window Treatments team in Alexandria, Virginia. This hands-on position is focused on the installation of commercial shades, blinds, and related window treatment products on active commercial construction sites. Experience with window treatments or commercial interiors is a plus, but not required. The ideal candidate is comfortable with manual labor, reading measurements, cutting materials, climbing ladders, using basic tools, and working safely as part of a construction team.
Responsibilities
- Install commercial shades, blinds, and related window treatment products according to project requirements
- Measure, mark, cut, and prepare materials for installation
- Read basic drawings, field measurements, and installation instructions
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other jobsite equipment
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials and equipment on jobsites
- Assist with layout, hardware placement, mounting, adjustment, and final product checks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow jobsite safety rules, company procedures, and direction from supervisors
- Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and other trades on site
- Travel to commercial project sites as needed and complete work efficiently and professionally
Must Have
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform hands-on manual labor
- Comfortable reading measurements and using a tape measure accurately
- Ability to cut, handle, lift, and install materials with care
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working on active commercial construction sites
- Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions
- Ability to work well with a team and communicate clearly
- Commitment to jobsite safety and professional conduct
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Experience installing shades, blinds, drapery tracks, or other window treatment products
- Experience in commercial interiors, construction, carpentry, drywall, ceiling systems, or related trades
- Familiarity with low voltage wiring
- Familiarity with reading construction drawings, elevations, or installation plans
- OSHA 10, lift training, or other construction safety certifications
