Shop Foreman / Lead Technician — We Are Not Your Father's Machine Shop

Belfanti Machine Works — Beaverton, OR

We're a precision CNC and fabrication shop building the next era of American manufacturing — and we're looking for a foreman/technician who's as comfortable dialing in a 5-axis toolpath as they are thinking about robotics, data, and how work actually flows across the floor.

This is not a "run the same part for 20 years" job. We machine everything from aerospace and defense components to consumer product tooling. We run Haas machining centers (VF-2/VF-4/DM2), a Litz LU-620 5-axis, and we're actively investing in automation. We use modern CAD (Fusion 360, Inventor), digital tool-crib systems we built in-house, and AI-assisted workflows for quoting, planning, and shop-floor management. If you geek out on making a shop smarter, you'll fit right in.

What you'll own:

Lead the floor — schedule jobs, mentor machinists, and run the shop like it's yours. You set the standard for quality and pace.
Value stream engineering — map how work moves from RFQ to shipped part, kill bottlenecks, and drive real Lean/continuous-improvement (not clipboard theater).

Robotics & automation — help us spec, deploy, and run automation (bar feeders, pallet systems, cobots, lights-out cells). We're building toward it and want someone hungry to lead it.

Technology & AI workflows — work alongside custom software and AI tools we use for quoting, tool management, scheduling, and quality. Your feedback shapes what we build next.

Team building — grow and coach a small, sharp crew. We're rolling out a structured onboarding and skills program and want you helping run it.

Own the process — CNC setup, first-article inspection, and quality to AS9100/ISO-grade standards.
What we're looking for:

Fusion 360 CAM experience is a must — you program your own toolpaths in Fusion 360 and know how to structure jobs using container methods (organized setups, folders, and reusable templates) to keep programming clean, consistent, and repeatable.
Proven CNC machining experience (5-axis and multi-axis a big plus) — mill and lathe.

Real leadership: you've run a floor, led a team, or been the person everyone goes to.
Comfortable with digital/data-driven tools. Bonus if you're already using AI in your workflow.

A Lean / value-stream / continuous-improvement mindset — you see waste and can't help but fix it.
Interest in (or experience with) robotics and shop automation.

Reads blueprints and GD&T cold; holds tight tolerances without drama.

U.S. Person status required (we do ITAR-controlled defense work).
The details:

Pay: $28–$38/hr DOE — with room to grow as you take on operations leadership.
Hours: 10 AM–6 PM, plus overtime as needed.

Why us: Modern, growing shop that actually invests in technology and its people. Real ownership and a direct line to the owner — no corporate layers. A seat at the table as we build something ambitious.

Create. Innovate. Customize. If you want to help build a smarter machine shop instead of just clocking hours at one, reply to this post with your resume and a couple sentences on the coolest thing you've ever made or improved.
