Shop Helper / Metal Detailer

Location: Spring Valley, CA

Pay: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Shop Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Overtime: 8–12 hour days as required

We are a growing architectural metal fabrication company looking for a reliable Shop Helper / Metal Detailer to support our fabrication team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing clean, professional work and enjoys working in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

You'll play an important role in preparing and finishing high-end architectural metalwork including gates, railings, fences, stairs, and custom fabricated products.

Responsibilities

Grind, sand, deburr, and finish fabricated metal components
Clean and prepare parts for welding, assembly, powder coating, or painting
Assist fabricators with fitting, assembly, and material handling
Operate a forklift to move materials and finished products throughout the shop
Load and unload deliveries
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area
Package and prepare completed projects for shipment or installation
Assist with general shop duties as needed
Occasional field installation work at project sites up to 150 miles from our Spring Valley shop may be required.

Requirements

Forklift experience (required)
Valid driver's license
Reliable transportation
Ability to lift 70 lbs
Ability to work on your feet throughout the day
Willingness to work 8–12 hour shifts when required
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Positive attitude, dependable, and willing to learn
Preferred
Experience using angle grinders, flap wheels, sanders, and other finishing tools
Previous experience in a fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or construction environment
Ability to accurately use a tape measure
Experience with stainless steel and aluminum finishing is a plus
