SHOP HELPER / RUNNER - Custom Cabinet Shop

Full-Time | $15–$20/hour

Cypress Millworks is a custom cabinet and millwork shop looking for a dependable, hardworking Shop Helper / Runner to join our production team.

This is a great entry-level position for someone who likes working with their hands, stays busy without needing constant direction, and wants the opportunity to learn the cabinetmaking trade. Experience is helpful, but attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are more important.

What You'll Do
-Move and stage lumber, sheet goods, cabinet parts, and finished pieces throughout the shop
-Keep the shop, workstations, and production areas clean and organized
-Keep craftsmen supplied with materials, hardware, and consumables
-Assist with machine setup, sanding, assembly, finishing, and other shop tasks as your skills develop
-Receive and organize incoming material deliveries
-Run errands to lumber yards, hardware stores, and suppliers
-Help load, unload, and transport materials and cabinetry
-Safely drive company vehicles and back, maneuver, and position a trailer
-Learn our materials, hardware, equipment, and shop procedures

The core shop duties are based directly on the position description, including material handling, machine support, cleanup, deliveries, errands, and production assistance.

We're looking for someone who is reliable, positive, alert, and coachable. The right person notices what needs to be done and does it rather than waiting to be told.

You should be comfortable with physical work, working around machinery, following safety procedures, and keeping a clean and organized workspace. You must also be comfortable maneuvering and backing a trailer.

We value people who show up ready to work, ask good questions, learn from mistakes, and take pride in doing things well. Those qualities closely reflect the standards laid out for this position in the Cypress employment agreement.

Opportunity to Grow

This is not intended to be a dead-end helper position. For someone who shows reliability, initiative, and aptitude, there is a clear path to Cabinetmaker Level I, typically within 6–18 months.

Pay: $15–$20/hour, depending on experience
