Job Title: Shop Laborer / Equipment Operator (lull)
Position Overview:
We are a geotechnical drilling contractor specializing in ground improvement and deep foundation systems, looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Shop Laborer / Equipment Operator Trainee. This position is based out of our shop and is designed for someone who wants to learn the equipment, support field operations, and grow into a key role at the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily shop operations including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the yard
- Assist mechanics with basic maintenance and repairs on drilling equipment and support trucks
- Wash, grease, fuel, and prep equipment for upcoming jobs
- Load and unload trucks, tooling, and materials
- Assist with mobilization and demobilization of equipment
- Perform basic inspections and report any issues
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, or other yard equipment (Experience Preferred)
- Travel to job sites as needed to assist crews and gain field experience
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn equipment and operations
- Interest in becoming a heavy equipment operator
- Ability to work in a physical, hands-on environment in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly
- Dependable, team-oriented, and takes direction well
- Construction, drilling, or heavy equipment experience
- Mechanical aptitude or prior shop experience
- Experience operating skid steer, forklift, or similar equipment
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience
- Overtime after 8 hours
