Welding Shop Manager Needed!
Welding Shop Manager needed to direct day-to-day fabrication operations, leads skilled trade workers, enforces safety and quality benchmarks, and manages schedules to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. This role balances hands-on technical metalworking knowledge with supervisory leadership.
Core Responsibilities
- Production & Workflow: Plan daily tasks, prioritize active jobs, and track project milestones from blueprints to final assembly.
- Quality Assurance: Verify that welds and fabricated products match structural blueprints, engineering drawings.
- Team Leadership: Evaluate welders and fabricators while assigning daily work projects.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA guidelines, manage proper personal protective equipment (PPE) standards, and maintain a hazard-free shop floor.
- Equipment Care: Schedule routine maintenance and repairs for welding rigs, power tools, jigs, and material handling gear.
- Experience: 2+ years of practical welding/fabrication background, including prior supervisory or foreman experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong command of MIG, TIG, and stick welding processes, plus proficiency in reading blueprints and weld symbols.
- Communication: Ability to coordinate with fabrication teams, project managers, to clear up or revise drawing errors or scheduling conflicts.
