Shop Manager / Fleet & Equipment Manager – Landscape Contractor

We are a growing Commercial Landscape Contractor seeking a highly organized, mechanically skilled Shop Manager to lead our shop operations, fleet maintenance, and equipment management. This is a key leadership role responsible for keeping our crews moving, our equipment reliable, and our shop running like clockwork.

What You’ll Do:

-Oversee daily operations of the shop and yard

-Manage preventative maintenance and repairs for trucks, trailers, mowers, skid steers, plows, and small equipment

-Perform hands-on mechanical work as needed (gas & diesel)

-Create and maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and repair histories

-Implement and manage PM schedules for all fleet and equipment

-Track parts, tools, inventory, and warranties

-Coordinate outside vendors and repair shops when necessary

-Ensure shop organization, cleanliness, and safety standards

-Support field crews by ensuring equipment is ready, fueled, and reliable

-Assist with field repairs as needed

-Assist with seasonal transitions (spring startup, fall cleanups, winter snow equipment prep)

What We’re Looking For:

-Strong mechanical background (automotive, diesel, or equipment mechanic experience required)

-Proven ability to stay organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven

-Experience maintaining fleets and small engine equipment (trucks, trailers, skids, plows, mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)

-Comfortable with record keeping, checklists, and systems

-Leadership mindset with the ability to manage priorities and people

-Landscape, construction, or fleet environment experience is a big plus
