Description
We are seeking a skilled Shop person / Cabinetmaker
to be a part of our family and production team and help oversee day-to-day operations at our Clearwater, FL cabinet shop. In this role, you will balance leadership and hands-on craftsmanship. You will manage our specialty dept, ensure quality control, and actively participate in the modification, assembly, and customization of high-quality finished cabinetry. A non smoker, must have a good driving record, and be able to work a min 40 hour work week.
Shop Leadership
- Quality Assurance: Inspect incoming RTA inventory and finished products to maintain high company standards.
- Safety & Maintenance: Enforce shop safety protocols and schedule regular maintenance for all machinery and tools.
- Inventory Control: Monitor hardware, sheet goods, and inventory levels, reporting shortages to management.
- Custom Modifications: Alter standard RTA cabinets to meet custom design specifications (e.g., custom cutouts, fillers, specialty integrations).
- Precision Machining: Safely operate table saws, routers, and pocket-hole jig, drive a forklift.
- Hardware Installation: Install hinges, drawer slides, pull-outs, with accuracy.
- Problem Solving: Diagnose and correct manufacturing defects, warped materials, or alignment issues on the fly.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of professional cabinetmaking experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead role.
- RTA Knowledge: Strong familiarity with RTA cabinets with framed construction methods, clip and corner block construction and frameless cabinetry.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints, shop drawings, and cut lists.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Field Conditions: Will need to be able to go out to jobs and assess field conditions before installation. Have an understand of electrical and plumbing.
