Site Superintendent – Architectural Metal & Glass – NYC Projects

IMMEDIATE HIRE – SITE SUPERINTENDENT – ARCHITECTURAL METAL & GLASS

We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent / Working Site Supervisor to oversee architectural metal, glass, signage, and specialty installation projects primarily throughout New York City and the NY Metro Area.

This is a hands-on field leadership position. We are looking for someone who can effectively manage installers, coordinate union and non-union crews, communicate with remote Project Managers and internal teams, solve field issues, and ensure projects are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.

Frequent travel between project sites is required. Occasional travel outside New York may also be required depending on project needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise and manage installers and field crews at active construction sites
• Coordinate union and non-union installers and subcontractors
• Manage daily site activities, manpower, scheduling, and installation priorities
• Coordinate daily with remote Project Managers and internal teams through Zoom, phone, email, and project-management tools
• Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, blueprints, and installation details
• Oversee architectural metal, glass, signage, structural/ornamental metal, and specialty installations
• Verify field dimensions, site conditions, and installation requirements
• Identify field conflicts and work with Project Management and Engineering to develop practical solutions
• Coordinate with General Contractors, Construction Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades
• Monitor installation quality and ensure work complies with project specifications
• Maintain job-site safety requirements and proper work practices
• Provide regular progress updates, photographs, measurements, and field reports
• Coordinate deliveries, materials, equipment, site access, and installation sequencing
• Ensure crews remain productive and project milestones are achieved

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years of relevant construction/field installation experience preferred
• Strong experience with architectural metal, glass, glazing, ironwork, signage, miscellaneous metals, structural/ornamental metals, or related specialty installations
• Previous hands-on experience supervising installers or construction crews
• NYC commercial construction experience strongly preferred
• Experience managing union and/or non-union crews preferred
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings
• Strong leadership and people-management skills
• Excellent communication and field problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable using technology, including Zoom, email, smartphones/tablets, digital drawings, and project-management systems
• OSHA/SST and other applicable construction safety certifications preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Must be willing to travel frequently between project sites
