Site Superintendent | High-End Residential Construction

Joinery Structures is looking for an experienced Site Superintendent for high-end residential renovation and construction. This full-time, salaried role is based at a jobsite in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood, with approximately 90% of the work performed onsite. Our office is in Oakland.

Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 per year.

We are a design-driven general contracting and custom woodworking firm based in West Oakland. Our work includes residential renovations, ground-up construction, finish carpentry, landscape structures, and custom woodworking.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead and support internal crews and subcontractors with clear, respectful direction.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager and broader project team to keep work organized and moving.
• Maintain the project schedule, including look-ahead planning, dependencies, inspections, deliveries, and material lead times.
• Review plans, identify field conditions, coordinate questions, and escalate decisions outside your authority.
• Maintain accurate Buildertrend daily logs, tasks, photos, schedule updates, and project documentation.
• Inspect work in progress and verify quality before work is covered or handed off.
• Identify schedule, cost, scope, safety, quality, and client-impact risks early.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors through approved communication channels.
• Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and safe jobsite.
• Coordinate punch-list completion and ensure repairs are completed properly.
• Perform hands-on carpentry or finish-carpentry work when project conditions require it and when authorized.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• At least three years of experience managing or leading high-end residential construction projects.
• A strong background in carpentry, finish carpentry, or related residential construction work.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read construction plans and coordinate work from drawings and specifications.
• Clear communication, respectful leadership, and effective teamwork.
• Comfort using Buildertrend and shared digital project records, or willingness to learn quickly.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to reliably report to the Castro jobsite and Oakland office as required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Five or more years of high-end residential construction experience.
• Experience with modern architecture or complex residential renovations.
• Four-year carpentry apprenticeship and/or Journeyman Carpenter experience.
• Experience with construction scheduling, daily logs, RFIs, punch lists, and project-cost tracking.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role works in active construction environments, indoors and outdoors. With or without reasonable accommodation, responsibilities include lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, crouching, crawling, kneeling, and digging; and using required tools and personal protective equipment.
