Site Supervisor – Landscape Construction

Description

Site Supervisor – Landscape Construction

Position Overview

The Site Supervisor is responsible for leading the successful execution of 3–4 landscape construction projects simultaneously, overseeing approximately 6–7 technicians across assigned projects. This role ensures every project is built according to the approved plans, schedule, budget, quality standards, city codes, and the client’s expectations.

The ideal candidate is an experienced landscape construction professional who understands the details of taking a project from A to Z, knows how to lead and develop technicians, communicates effectively in Spanish, and understands and follows the Flor Way of Operations.

This position requires someone who takes ownership of the project, anticipates problems before they become issues, communicates clearly with the team and clients, and does whatever is reasonably necessary to deliver an exceptional finished project while maintaining Flor’s financial and timeline metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Manage 3–4 landscape construction projects simultaneously.
  • Oversee and coordinate 6–7 technicians across assigned projects.
  • Take ownership of projects from mobilization through final completion and client closeout.
  • Make sure projects flow according to the approved plans, scope, schedule, budget, and production expectations.
  • Understand every phase of the project and what needs to happen next.
  • Identify potential delays, conflicts, material shortages, or quality issues before they affect the project.

  • Clearly assign daily and weekly responsibilities to technicians.
  • Delegate based on each technician’s skill level, strengths, and development needs.
  • Hold technicians accountable for quality, productivity, safety, and professionalism.
  • Teach technicians how to properly perform landscape construction tasks instead of simply completing the work for them.
  • Take less-experienced technicians under your wing and actively develop them into stronger team members.
  • Build future leaders within the field team.
  • Lead by example and maintain a professional, respectful, hardworking attitude.
Landscape Construction Expertise

  • Possess strong hands-on knowledge of landscape construction and installation.
  • Understand the complete construction process from A to Z, including site preparation, excavation, grading, base preparation, concrete, pavers, walls, drainage, irrigation, planting, lighting, finishing details, cleanup, and project closeout.
  • Understand how different trades and scopes interact with one another.
  • Read and understand landscape plans, layouts, details, dimensions, elevations, and specifications.
  • Confirm field conditions and layouts before installation.
  • Ensure work is constructed according to approved plans and specifications.
  • Follow applicable building codes, city requirements, manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and Flor standards.
Client Experience

  • Maintain professional and proactive communication with clients when needed.
  • Confirm layouts, design details, placement, and field decisions with the client when appropriate.
  • Listen to client concerns and respond professionally.
  • Make sure the client understands what is happening throughout the project.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the finished product and overall client experience.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and never accept “good enough” when a better result is achievable.
  • Ensure every project is delivered with the goal of creating an **amazing final result and a highly satisfied client**.
Quality Control

  • Inspect work continuously throughout the project rather than waiting until the end.
  • Maintain Flor’s expectation for high-end craftsmanship and finishing details.
  • Catch mistakes early and correct them before they become larger problems.
  • Verify dimensions, elevations, layouts, transitions, edges, joints, alignments, finishes, and overall appearance.
  • Make sure jobsites remain organized, clean, safe, and professional.
  • Conduct final quality checks before presenting completed work to the client or Project Manager.
Flor Way of Operations

  • Understand, follow, and reinforce Flor’s systems, processes, expectations, and standards.
  • Use company systems and communication tools properly.
  • Maintain accurate project updates and communicate important changes
