Skilled Carpenter – Custom Furniture & Millwork Shop (El Monte)$30–$40

Tortorelli Creations is a custom woodworking shop in El Monte building furniture, doors, and architectural woodwork for churches throughout California. Our work includes altars, presider chairs, reredos, and solid hardwood entry doors, much of it carved and gilded. We’re looking for a skilled carpenter who takes pride in fine work and wants to build pieces that will last for generations.

What you’ll do:

Build solid hardwood doors (stile-and-rail, raised panel, large-format entry doors) from shop drawings
Do high-end finish work: fitting, sanding, and finish prep where every detail shows
Assist with furniture and millwork fabrication in mahogany, oak, maple, and other hardwoods
Travel occasionally for out-of-town installations with our install crew

What we’re looking for:

Proven experience building doors. Please include photos of doors you’ve built.
Strong finish carpentry skills and an eye for detail
Ability to read shop drawings and work accurately to tight tolerances
Solid joinery skills (mortise and tenon, cope and stick, etc.)
Comfortable with standard shop machinery and hand tools
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for installs
CNC or carving experience is a plus but not required

Pay: $30–$40/hr depending on experience and skill level. There will be a bench test in our shop as part of the hiring process.

To apply: Send a short note about your experience along with photos of work you’ve personally built, especially doors. Contact Andrew
