Description

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to support residential rehabilitation and renovation projects throughout the Cleveland area. We renovate residential properties throughout Cuyahoga County and are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, shows up on time, and enjoys working as part of a team. Work will primarily involve the rehabilitation of older residential properties, including structural wood repairs, framing, exterior carpentry, and general renovation work. The ideal candidate will have experience with rough and finish carpentry, exterior repairs, and residential remodelling. Candidates must be able to work independently on a 1099 while maintaining high standards of workmanship and job site safety.

Primary Responsibilities

Perform floor repairs as needed; complete subfloor repairs and replacement of damaged flooring systems.
Construct and repair wood framing for walls, floors, ceilings, partitions, stairs, other structural components and deteriorated wood components where required.
Repair and replace wood siding and other exterior wood components (fascia boards, soffits, and exterior trim) where required.
Install doors, windows, blocking, backing, and framing components.
Measure, cut, and install lumber and other building materials according to project plans and specifications.
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other carpentry equipment.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
Follow all company safety policies and job site requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of residential carpentry or renovation experience.
Strong knowledge of rough and finish carpentry techniques.
Experience repairing structural wood components in older residential homes.
Ability to follow work specifications.
Proficient in the safe use of common carpentry hand and power tools.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Must provide basic carpentry hand tools.

Preferred Experience

Experience renovating older residential properties.
Familiarity with residential building codes and standard construction practices.
Experience working alongside electrical, plumbing, and HVAC trades during renovation projects. Ability to identify common structural deficiencies and communicate repair recommendations to the Project Manager.
