SKILLED FINISH CARPENTER — Sonoma, Napa & Marin Counties, CA
Skilled Finish Carpenter — Sonoma, Napa & Marin Co
Description
Leadership Opportunity for the Right Candidate
We are a high-end millwork and cabinetry installation company serving top general contractors across Sonoma, Napa, and Marin counties. Primarily, our work includes custom cabinetry installation, doors installation, and all other trim work on some of the finest homes and commercial projects in the North Bay. We also build from the ground up and remodel existing properties so carpentry skill beyond finish work are most welcome. We do exceptional, uncompromising work.
We are looking for one experienced finish carpenter to join our crew — someone who takes genuine pride in their craft, communicates clearly and professionally in every setting, and doesn't need to be babysat. For the right person, this position has a clear path to a crew leadership role.
This is not a position for someone still learning the trade.

WHAT THE JOB LOOKS LIKE
- Finish carpentry and custom millwork installation on high-end residential and commercial projects
- Cabinet installation, crown molding, door and window casing, baseboard, and architectural trim work
- Reading and interpreting construction plans and architectural drawings with precision
- Working across job sites in Sonoma, Napa, and Marin counties — reliable transportation is non-negotiable
- Communicating clearly and professionally with clients, architects, designers, and primary contractors — both on-site and in writing
- Potential to grow into a leadership role, directing crew and serving as a trusted point of contact in the field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on finish carpentry experience — this work is detail-oriented and unforgiving
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction plans and architectural drawings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills — you can speak clearly on a job site, hold your own in a conversation with a client or architect, and follow up in writing without errors or ambiguity
- A full set of professional-grade personal tools (Festool, Mafell, Milwaukee, Makita, or equivalent — we'll know the difference)
- Reliable personal vehicle to reach job sites across a three-county area
- Impeccable professionalism — in your appearance, your communication, your conduct on the job site, and your interactions with clients and colleagues alike
- The kind of eye for detail that genuinely bothers you when something isn't right
- No drama, no excuses, no shortcuts
We work in high-end environments alongside architects, interior designers, and discerning clients who expect the best from every trade on their project. How you carry yourself and how you communicate matters as much as how you swing a hammer. We expect clean job sites, clear and timely communication — verbal and written — punctuality, and conduct that reflects well on our company and on the trade itself. If you can't write a coherent text or email to a client or contractor, this is not the right position for you. If all of that sounds like second nature, things will work out just fine.
LEADERSHIP TRACK
We don't promote by seniority — we promote by character and capability. If you show up consistently, communicate well, earn the trust of clients and colleagues, and demonstrate the judgment to lead, we will put you in a position to do exactly that. This is a real opportunity for someone ready to take on more responsibility.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive compensation commensurate with your actual skill level
- A crew of professionals who take the craft — and their conduct — seriously
- A direct path to a leadership role for the right candidate
- No micromanagement — we hire skilled people and trust them to deliver
To apply, send us a brief, well-written message — in your own words — describing your experience, the tools you own, the types of projects you've worked on, and your familiarity with reading plans. How you write that message will tell us a great deal. Photos of your finished work are strongly encouraged and will move your application to the top of the pile. References from contractors, architects, or project leads will be required before any offer is extended.
If your skills are genuine, your standards are high, and you carry yourself — and communicate — like a professional, we want to hear from you.
