SKILLED INSTALLER / HANDYMAN – $26–$31/HR + PAID TRAINING

Our established Los Angeles home-safety childproofing company looking for a skilled installer to add to our current installation team.

This is NOT an entry-level general-labor position. You do not need previous baby-proofing experience, but you should already understand basic installation techniques, use power tools confidently and produce clean, accurate work.

We will train you on our products and methods. We need someone who learns quickly and can progress toward handling appointments independently.

SOME OF WHAT YOU’LL INSTALL:

• Stairway and doorway safety gates
• Cabinet and drawer latches
• Furniture anchors
• Electrical and fireplace safety products
• Plexiglass and other custom safety barriers
• Additional child-safety products throughout clients’ homes

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You may have experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, finish carpenter, cabinet installer, AV installer, home-services technician or in a similar trade.

You should have:

• Experience using drills, drivers, anchors, levels and measuring tools
• A working understanding of mounting hardware into drywall, wood, studs and other common surfaces
• Good measuring and problem-solving skills
• The ability to follow installation procedures and accept training
• Strong attention to detail—installations must be straight, secure and clean
• Good communication skills and a professional appearance
• Respect for clients, their children and their homes
• Dependability and punctuality (ALWAYS BE ON TIME)
• A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and ability to travel throughout the Los Angeles area
• The physical ability to carry tools, kneel, climb stairs and perform installation work
• Clean background

Previous experience installing safety gates or childproofing products is helpful but not required. We care more about your general installation ability, judgment, attitude and ability to learn our systems quickly.

COMPENSATION:

• $26–$31 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skill
• Paid product and installation training
• Opportunity to advance to senior installer or crew-lead responsibilities
• Higher compensation as your independence and responsibilities increase
