POSITION:

We are seeking a highly skilled residential remodeling carpenter with at least five years of professional experience. The ideal candidate is comfortable traveling and working throughout Philadelphia and has experience with both newer construction and the city’s older homes. You should be a versatile problem-solver capable of completing a wide range of remodeling and carpentry projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES (may include):

• Complete kitchen remodeling
• Framing and drywall installation
• Repairing and sistering floor joists
• Building stairs and steps from scratch
• Deck construction
• Additions and structural renovations
• Finish and general carpentry
• Troubleshooting conditions commonly found in older homes
• Communicating professionally with customers and team members

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least five years of professional residential remodeling or carpentry experience
• Broad knowledge of rough and finish carpentry
• Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
• Professional appearance and conduct
• Self-motivated, dependable, and disciplined
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and reliable truck or van
• Your own professional tools
• Comfortable driving and working throughout Philadelphia

COMPENSATION & EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS:

• $35–$40 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and employment arrangement
• Full-time, year-round work
• Biweekly pay for employees
• Weekly pay for independent contractors
• Opportunities for pay increases

Depending on qualifications and the nature of the working arrangement, the position may be structured as either:

• A full-time company employee; or
• An independent contractor

Independent contractors must provide appropriate business documentation and proof of required insurance and licensing.

After completing 90 days of employment, full-time employees are eligible for:

• Healthcare
• Paid time off (5 vacation days + 3 personal days + 3 sick days)
• 401(k) retirement plan
