The Power Outlet has been serving the Lake Norman area for over 30 years. We are an authorized dealer and service center for STIHL, Husqvarna, ECHO, Ferris, Toro, Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Kawasaki, Kohler, and more. We serve homeowners and professional landscapers across the greater Charlotte region. We are looking for experienced small engine mechanics who take pride in quality work and want to be part of a tight-knit local shop — not a big-box chain.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and service 2-stroke and 4-stroke small engines across a wide range of outdoor power equipment
• Perform routine maintenance including tune-ups, carburetor cleaning and rebuilding, blade sharpening, belt and filter replacements, and fuel system service
• Troubleshoot electrical, ignition, and fuel system issues using diagnostic tools and sound mechanical judgment
• Service equipment including lawn mowers, riding tractors, zero-turn mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, generators, and pressure washers
• Complete warranty repair work and submit accurate documentation to manufacturers
• Communicate repair needs, timelines, and costs clearly to customers and service writers
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Stay current with technical service bulletins and manufacturer training as required

Requirements:

• 2+ years of hands-on small engine repair experience
• Proficiency with both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines
• Strong carburetor diagnosis and rebuild skills
• Experience with ignition and electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical and service manuals
• Familiarity with brands such as STIHL, Husqvarna, ECHO, Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Kawasaki, Kohler, Toro, Ferris, or similar
• Must own basic hand tools (specialty tooling provided)
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the day
• Valid driver's license required

Preferred Qualifications:

• OEM-certified technician training (STIHL, Husqvarna, Briggs & Stratton, etc.)
• Experience with EFI small engine systems
• Prior dealership or service center experience
• Familiarity with dealer management or work order software
• Experience servicing riding mowers and zero-turn machines
