Position: Small Engine Mechanic to repair snowblowers and landscaping equipment
Location: Farina’s, Inc. Watertown, MA

Mechanically inclined? Do you like working on engines and power equipment? This is a great opportunity!
We are gearing up for the winter season and are looking for people with strong mechanical skills to service snowblowers.
Individuals will be responsible for performing routine service and assembly on Ariens, Toro and Honda snowblowers. This includes diagnosing problems, troubleshooting, rebuilding carburetors, tuning engines and using power tools to assemble equipment. We provide all necessary tools and supplies for technicians to use.
Some previous experience working on this type of equipment is required. We offer paid training. We are willing to invest time, money and resources into training someone who has the right skills and is passionate about learning a trade. Landscapers and skilled laborers are welcome to apply for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair problems with equipment
- Perform routine maintenance on customers’ equipment
- Disassemble, clean and rebuild engine carburetor
- Adjust and/or install belts, cables, scraper edges, skids
- Unbox, assemble, prep and test new snowblowers to sell in our store
- An ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience working with small engine power equipment.
- Candidates must be strong enough to lift, push, pull, and move equipment in excess of 50 pounds.
- Must be responsible, punctual and able to communicate clearly with others in a professional manner
- Must pay attention to details and be willing to listen to and follow instructions
- Able to work independently after receiving training
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on seasonal needs
- Interest in developing own skills and knowledge
- Interest in working in an environment committed to providing excellent sales and service experiences
- PAID TRAINING to qualified individuals
- 40 Hours per week at hourly wage, plus 1.5x Overtime Pay for hours over 40
- Hourly wage varies depending on work experience and ability
