About SparX Solar
SparX Solar is expanding its residential solar installation and solar panel detach-and-reset operations. We work directly with homeowners, roofing contractors, and industry partners to safely install, remove, and reinstall residential solar energy systems.
We are looking for dependable and experienced installers and technicians who take pride in safe, clean, and professional workmanship.
Position Overview
The Solar Installer / Detach-and-Reset Technician will assist with residential solar installations and the safe removal and reinstallation of solar panels during roofing projects.
Team members must be comfortable working on residential roofs, handling solar equipment, following safety procedures, and documenting completed work.
Primary Responsibilities
Install residential solar panels, racking, attachments, and related equipment.
Safely remove existing solar panels before roofing work begins.
Label, photograph, organize, and protect removed panels and equipment.
Reinstall solar panels after roofing work is completed.
Inspect panels, racking, wiring, connectors, attachments, and roof penetrations.
Report damaged or missing equipment to the project manager.
Assist with layout, mounting, grounding, wire management, and equipment installation.
Follow approved plans, manufacturer instructions, and project scopes.
Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.
Load, unload, transport, and protect tools and solar equipment.
Take clear before, during, and after photographs of each project.
Communicate professionally with homeowners, roofers, electricians, and project managers.
Assist electricians and crew leaders as directed.
Complete assigned projects efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
Experience in solar installation, roofing, electrical work, construction, or a related trade is preferred.
Comfortable working on ladders and residential roofs.
Able to lift and carry solar panels, tools, and materials.
Knowledge of proper fall protection and jobsite safety.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Dependable attendance and ability to arrive on time.
Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous solar panel detach-and-reset experience.
Residential solar installation experience.
Roofing or electrical experience.
NABCEP or other solar-related training.
Personal tools, safety equipment, or work vehicle.
Experience with Tesla Powerwall or residential battery systems.
Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
