Solar Service Technician & Crew Leader

POSITION SUMMARY

Locke Energy Solutions is hiring an experienced Solar Service Technician & Crew Leader.

This is not an entry-level installer position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a project, maintain quality standards, and lead by example in the field.

The successful candidate will have strong electrical and solar experience, be comfortable troubleshooting and servicing solar systems, and have experience leading and training installation crews.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and supervise solar installation crews
• Train and mentor team members in the field
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning solar systems
• Commission and test solar systems
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues
• Install and configure monitoring systems
• Educate customers on system operation and monitoring platforms
• Perform site surveys, including measurements, photos, and notes
• Assemble solar racking systems and solar arrays
• Install and waterproof solar roof mounts
• Bend conduit and complete electrical connections
• Work in attics, crawl spaces, and on rooftops
• Coordinate with project coordinators and scheduling staff
• Prepare jobs for inspections
• Maintain quality control and safety standards on every project
• Ensure compliance with NEC, manufacturer requirements, and local building codes
• Complete projects safely, professionally, and on schedule

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 4 years of electrical experience or training
• Minimum 4 years of solar troubleshooting and service experience
• Experience supervising, leading, and training crews
• Experience installing and waterproofing solar mounting systems
• Experience diagnosing and repairing solar system failures
• Experience with battery backup and energy storage systems
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and system layouts
• Ability to bend conduit
• Valid driver's license
• Own reliable vehicle (gas reimbursement provided)
• Must have the tools required to perform the job
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to work on rooftops with varying pitches and surfaces
• Ability to pass a background check, drug/alcohol screening, and DMV review
• Willingness to travel outside the local area when required

PREFERRED

• Roofing experience
• Construction experience
• Residential and commercial solar experience
