Sound and Communication Installer - Lead (Southern California)

We are looking for an experienced Sound & Communication Lead Installer who can take responsibility in the field, work independently, lead installation activities, and deliver high-quality work.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for an experienced technician who understands the trade and can perform at a lead level.

Responsibilities

The Lead Installer will perform and/or oversee installation, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of:
•Cat6 and Cat6A structured cabling
•Fiber-optic cabling and terminations
•CCTV and IP camera systems
•Wireless/Wi-Fi infrastructure
•Access control and low-voltage systems
•MDF, IDF, and MPOE installations
•Equipment racks, cabinets, patch panels, and cable management
•Copper and fiber testing and certification
•Pathways, J-hooks, supports, and associated low-voltage infrastructure
•Troubleshooting and repair of telecommunications systems
•Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, specifications, and details

Minimum Qualifications
•6+ years of professional Sound & Communication / low-voltage field experience
•Strong knowledge of structured cabling installation practices
•Experience with Cat6/Cat6A and fiber-optic systems
•Experience installing and troubleshooting IP camera and network-connected systems
•Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
•Ability to perform testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution independently
•Ability to professionally represent the company on customer job sites
•Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
•Ability to work throughout Southern California as project requirements dictate

Preferred Qualifications

The following are highly desirable:
•BICSI certifications
•Manufacturer certifications
•Fiber-optic certifications
•CCTV/security system experience
•Wi-Fi/network infrastructure experience
•Public works and prevailing-wage project experience
•Experience working in K-12 schools, municipalities, airports, and other government facilities
•Conduit bending and pathway installation experience
•Experience supervising or leading field crews

Compensation
$105,000–$125,000 annually

Actual compensation will depend on experience, certifications, qualifications, and assigned work.

A significant portion of our work consists of California public works projects. Applicable prevailing-wage rates will be paid when employees are performing work covered by California prevailing-wage requirements.

We want someone who takes pride in their workmanship and understands that a Lead Installer is expected to do more than pull cable.

You should be able to walk onto a project, understand the drawings and scope, organize the work, identify potential problems, communicate with the project team, and make sure the installation is completed correctly.
