Stone Slab Templater Needed

Architectural Tile & Stone (ATS) is looking for a person to help us with Templating. We have been in business for almost 27 years. Family owned and local to Austin. We have under 30 employees and have a few benefits to offer! We pay approximately 70% of insurance (which equates to around $4.20 p/hr) with BCBSTX with health savings, we offer 4% matching on your 401K if you choose to participate, as well as offer a dental plan if you choose to elect it. 1 week vacation after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2 years.

We template countertops, walls, floors and ceilings for high end projects. If you have experience with cabinetry, or installing stone, this is a PLUS!

Job Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Digitally measuring areas such as countertops, splash, walls, floors, fireplaces, outdoor grills, shower ceilings, tub decks and wherever slabs may be located. Please let us know if you know how to do stick templates.
• ATS works in new construction and remodel projects.
• Meet at the office in the morning, download with team and head to job-site. Return to office at the end of the day to send/download information as needed.
• Follow up with clients and team as needed. Great communication!
• Scope includes high-end custom work.
• Assist in reviewing if the job is ready to template.
• Measure to bid if the client doesn’t have plans. Hand off measurements to sales team.
• Receive a job folder/packet from the Sales person/Architect describing the scope of the job.
• Review job folders prior to attending a job and discuss with field manager and sales person as needed.
• Provide any updates or corrections to the sales staff so that they may update the bid and record information.
• Meet with clients to discuss details, make suggestions as needed or assist connecting them to other team members to help.
• Mark template files with correct and exact info to fabricate from. Save/print to PDF for sales team as needed.
• Provide assessment of job site (ex: stairs will require additional install crew to help carry pieces).
• Reports written; progress on work orders.
• Photograph site conditions, upload to server.
• Responsible for maintaining company vehicle and tools.
• Report progress throughout the day to team as needed.
• Save information to server, notify the team or changes to the job and/or when drawings are complete (so sales can lay out the areas with the client for approval to cut).
• Clean up drawings with dimensions, etc. before handing off to team for fabrication
• To be reviewed – who creates shop drawings. Either templater or staff Architect depending on timing. Drawing to be legible to clients, add titleblock, job number, and any additional project information on drawing for clients approval.
• ATS has previously used a pro-liner system, but can discuss using other methods as long as tolerances are tight.

Requirements:
-High School degree, college a plus
-English required, Spanish a plus
-Measuring/dimensions/fractions- very important
-Templating experience either cabinets or stone
-Legal to work in the US and a valid drivers license to travel to jobsites
-Mid-Senior level experience
