Position Overview

Neagley & Chase Construction Company is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to join its growing field operations team. This individual will play a key leadership role across all phases of construction—from pre-construction planning through project completion—ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards of quality.

This opportunity is ideal for a construction professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and has experience managing projects in the $5M–$25M range. The role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio including ground-up construction, tenant fit-ups, and multi-family developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all on-site construction activities from pre-construction through project closeout
  • Collaborate on project planning, logistics, and scheduling
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
  • Maintain and drive project schedules, addressing challenges proactively
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and promote a strong safety culture
  • Oversee quality control to meet project specifications
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, and internal stakeholders
  • Utilize Procore, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam
  • Supervise field staff (typically 3–6 employees)
  • Maintain clear communication across project teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six years of commercial construction experience
  • Superintendent-level experience preferred
  • Experience managing projects in the $5M–$25M range
  • Ground-up construction experience preferred
  • Experience with tenant fit-ups and/or multi-family projects is a plus
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and specifications
  • Strong scheduling experience
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam
  • Understanding of all construction phases, including MEP systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safety; OSHA 30 certification preferred

Work Environment & Travel

  • Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (flexibility based on project needs)
  • Extended hours may be required during peak construction periods
  • Projects primarily within a 1.5–2 hour radius of South Burlington, VT
  • Most projects allow for daily return home, with occasional exceptions
