Superintendent for Public/Private Residential & Commercial Site Work; To Oversee Civil Improvements connected to Earthwork/Utility (Sewer & Water)/Paving/Concrete
We are seeking a highly motivated Sitework Superintendent to oversee field operations for civil and site development projects. This role manages field crews, coordinates subcontractors, and ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Responsibilities
• Manage daily site operations and field crews • Coordinate grading, utilities, drainage, and paving activities • Maintain project schedules and production goals • Enforce safety standards and company policies • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and inspectors • Track quantities, production rates, and field costs • Conduct daily jobsite meetings and safety briefings • Resolve field issues and maintain quality standards
Qualifications
• 5+ years experience in civil/sitework, residential construction • Experience managing crews and subcontractors • Strong knowledge of grading, utilities, drainage, and paving • Ability to read and interpret civil plans • Strong leadership and communication skills • Commitment to jobsite safety and OSHA standards
Preferred
- Experience with GPS machine control
- Experience with commercial and residential site development projects
- Experience with HCSS / Heavy Job
- Experience with Prevailing Wage jobs
Core Duties:
Coordinate production schedule and project requirements with project managers.
Must be able to interpret production schedules and comply with all federal, state, and public utility regulations. Must complete the required trenching and excavation training requirements set forth by The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Work with vendors and negotiate pricing of materials.
Follow up on ordering and delivery of materials.
Supervise foreman and provide direction to crews.
Keep Management Team advised as to progress on sites.
Update Heavy Job as needed.
Lead the safety effort by recognizing and correcting hazards as soon as they are present and being the #1 safety advocate for the crews
Be a mentor to employees by teaching them proper construction technique.
Preferred Education/Training/Certification:
10+ years as a pipe/utility/paving, earthwork, dirt foreman or superintendent
OSHA Supervisor Training
Trenching and Shoring Competent Person
First Aid/CPR
Familiarity with HCSS a plus
