Survey Crew Chief

Hanson, Walter Associates Inc, a civil engineering and land surveying firm in Osceola County since 1981, seeks experienced (5+ years) Survey Crew Chief.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately run survey measuring instruments including levels and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities.
GPS and Robotics knowledge a plus.

• Boundary, topographic and construction layout surveying, residential, commercial and roadway surveying.
• Perform mathematical calculations and field check data. Take and maintain clear accurate and legible field notes.

Read plans and specifications.
- Communicate with external clients and client-related contacts such as governmental entities, vendors, contractors, etc. as well as
communication with HWA teams and management.

• Works efficiently with multiple deadlines
• Leads, trains and mentors survey field crew members
• Makes calculations in the field to aid with property corner searches

Candidate should possess excellent communication skills, leadership skills, team player capable of meeting project deadlines and have strong math aptitude. Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Able to work outdoors in a variety of terrains and weather conditions. Set up and take down survey equipment properly to prevent damage. Drive/locate stakes, rebar and hubs using hammer, shovel and post hole digger. Cut lines of sight with a variety of hand tools. Able to be on your feet and walking for large portions of the work day. Duties may require climbing, stooping, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
