Description

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER – SWIMMING POOL CONSTRUCTION

Rimrock Pool & Spa | Portland Metro & Oregon Projects

Rimrock Pool & Spa is seeking an experienced, highly organized Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple residential swimming pool construction projects.

This is not a desk-only position. We need someone who is comfortable being in the field, coordinating subcontractors and crews, communicating professionally with homeowners, solving problems as they arise, and keeping projects moving from one construction phase to the next.

THE POSITION

Our Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing active projects from the field and coordinating the many moving pieces involved in residential swimming pool construction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and monitoring multiple active construction projects
  • Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries, inspections, and construction schedules
  • Visiting jobsites and verifying that work is ready for the next phase
  • Communicating professionally with homeowners regarding scheduling and project progress
  • Identifying problems early and helping develop practical solutions
  • Coordinating excavation, plumbing, steel, shotcrete, electrical, concrete/decking, tile, interior finish, equipment installation and other phases of pool construction
  • Maintaining accurate notes, photos, schedules, and project information
  • Communicating closely with company ownership regarding project status, upcoming needs, delays, changes, and concerns
  • Helping ensure subcontractors and crews have the information and materials they need before arriving at a project
  • Following projects through completion rather than simply scheduling individual trades
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Swimming pool construction experience would be extremely valuable, but it is not necessarily required for the right person.

We would also like to hear from experienced project managers, superintendents, general contractors, or construction professionals with strong backgrounds in residential construction.

The right candidate must be:

  • Extremely organized
  • Dependable and accountable
  • Comfortable managing several projects simultaneously
  • Able to read plans, measurements, elevations, and construction documents
  • Knowledgeable about residential construction practices
  • Comfortable working with subcontractors and tradespeople
  • An excellent communicator with homeowners
  • Able to handle difficult situations professionally
  • Capable of making sound decisions in the field
  • Proactive rather than waiting to be told what needs to happen next
  • Comfortable using a smartphone for calls, texts, photos, scheduling, and project communication
You must also have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation and be willing to travel to jobsites as required.

Our projects are not all located in one neighborhood. While much of our work is in the Portland/Willamette Valley area, we also have projects in other areas of Oregon. Some travel is part of this position.

WHAT MATTERS TO US

We are looking for someone who understands that homeowners are making a major investment in their property and deserve professional communication and follow-through.

At the same time, this is construction. Schedules change. Weather happens. Subcontractors run late. Materials get delayed. Unexpected site conditions arise.

We need someone who can deal with those realities calmly, communicate clearly, and concentrate on finding solutions rather than creating additional problems.

Integrity, organization, communication, construction knowledge, and follow-through are every bit as important to us as what’s written on your résumé.

COMPENSATION

Compensation will be based on experience, construction knowledge, and the level of responsibility the successful candidate is prepared to assume.

We are willing to discuss the structure of the position with an exceptional candidate.

TO APPLY

Please respond with:

  • Your name and phone number
  • A brief description of your construction background
  • Your project management or superintendent experience
  • Any swimming pool, excavation, concrete, plumbing, landscape construction, or related experience
  • The approximate number of projects you have managed simultaneously
  • Your compensation expectations
  • When you would be available to begin
This position is available immediately.

Please tell us a little about yourself in your response rather than simply sending a résumé. We are interested in finding the right person to become an important part of Rimrock Pool & Spa and help us successfully manage our current and future project
