# Experienced Glass Tempering Oven Operator

**Position:** Glass Tempering Oven Operator
**Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:00 PM
**Compensation:** Negotiable based on experience

## Position Overview

We are looking for an **experienced Glass Tempering Oven Operator** to join our manufacturing team.

**This is not an entry-level position. Previous hands-on experience operating a glass tempering furnace/oven is required.**

We are looking for someone who understands the entire tempering process and can confidently operate the equipment, recognize potential problems, make necessary adjustments, and consistently produce high-quality tempered glass.

The right person will be dependable, safety-conscious, quality-focused, and capable of working with minimal supervision.

## Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a glass tempering furnace/oven.
  • Understand and properly adjust heating, cooling/quench, speed, and other tempering parameters.
  • Select and adjust recipes/settings based on glass type, thickness, size, coatings, and other requirements.
  • Load, process, and unload glass safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect tempered glass for quality and identify defects or processing issues.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot common tempering problems, including distortion, roller wave, bow, breakage, overheating, underheating, and other quality issues.
  • Make appropriate furnace adjustments to maintain consistent quality.
  • Understand proper handling requirements for different types and thicknesses of architectural glass.
  • Perform routine operator inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain production records and follow established quality procedures.
  • Keep the tempering area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Work closely with production and quality personnel to maintain production schedules and product standards.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating requirements.
## Required Experience

**Previous glass tempering furnace/oven operating experience is required.**

Candidates should have:

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of the glass tempering process.
  • Experience independently operating a commercial glass tempering furnace.
  • Ability to set up and adjust furnace parameters without requiring extensive training.
  • Knowledge of glass quality standards and common tempering defects.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of safe glass handling practices.
  • Ability to recognize when equipment or process conditions are not operating correctly.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
## What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who **knows glass tempering**.

We are not looking to train someone from the beginning. The successful candidate should be comfortable stepping into a tempering operation, understanding the equipment and process, and producing quality tempered glass.
