Tile Installation Helper

Location: Santa Ana, CA

Hours: 6am to 4pm - Must be Flexible, start times may vary
Pay: $20/hour

Solvis Employment Services is seeking a dedicated Tile Installation Helper to join our construction team, supporting the installation of tiles and related building materials across various projects. The ideal candidate will be proactive, safety-conscious, and eager to learn the fundamentals of tile laying and construction site operations.

The Stone/Tile Installation Helper supports tile and stone installers by preparing work areas, transporting materials, mixing installation products, and assisting with the installation of tile and natural stone. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to perform physical labor, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist installers with measuring, cutting, and laying tile and stone materials.

· Prepare work areas by removing old flooring, cleaning surfaces, and setting up tools and equipment.

· Load, unload, and transport tile, stone, mortar, grout, and other materials.

· Mix mortar, thin-set, grout, and other installation products according to manufacturer instructions.

· Hand tools and materials to installers as needed during installation.

· Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and the job site.

· Remove debris and dispose of construction waste safely.

· Help install backer board, waterproofing systems, and underlayment.

· Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Perform other duties as assigned by the lead installer or supervisor.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· Previous construction or flooring experience is helpful but not required.

· Ability to lift up to 50–75 pounds regularly.

· Ability to kneel, bend, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods.

· Basic knowledge of construction tools is a plus.

· Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Work Environment:

· Indoor and outdoor construction sites.

· Exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.

· Frequent lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and repetitive physical activity.

· May require overtime and occasional weekend work depending on project schedules.

This type of position is often considered an entry-level role and provides a pathway to becoming a skilled tile or stone installer through on-the-job training.
