Trail builder or mini excavator operator

Local trailbuilding company Radius Trail Solutions is growing and looking for help.

Excavator experience preferred but training is possible for a candidate with aptitude. A love for trails and ability to handle long days in the mountains are necessary. A lot of the trails we build are mountain bike oriented so experience and passion for that is very helpful. Experience with landscaping, general equipment operation and safety, small engines/weedwackers/chainsaws, hand tools, and/or dirt bikes also helpful. Reliable transportation a must as work is sometimes out of town, currently between Missoula area and Seeley Lake. Some nights spent out of town will be necessary.

Work includes hand labor (raking, digging), equipment operation (plate compactors, excavators, chainsaws, weedwackers, skid steers etc), general equipment and tool use. Requires walking long distances, lifting heavy objects (75 lbs+), repetitive motions.

Part time for a skilled excavator operator is possible, or part time hand work only, otherwise work is full time if training on equipment (4-10s probably). Work is seasonal but can run as late as Thanksgiving depending on weather.
