Job description:
Position Summary:
We are looking to hire a full-time Trailer & Intermodal Chassis Mechanic who are responsible for diagnostics and repairing the mechanical & electrical parts of trailers, & chassis
DUTIES:
Perform preventative maintenance service and inspections.
Diagnose and provide quick response for equipment failure
Maintain and repair all equipment to include electrical, wheels, tires, brakes, axles, suspension, body, etc.
Must supply own tools, toolbox, and air tools.
Follow company procedures. Ensure a safe work environment.
Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
Examines assigned unit to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles
QUALIFICATIONS:
Be physically fit to lift, bend, and work with both manual and power tools (100 pound lifting requirement).
A high school education is expected.
Tire Mount / Dismount Experience
Perform air brake service and maintenance
Basic welding skills desired (such as Oxy/Acetylene, MIG, and ARC).
Minimum age 18
Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Minimum of 3 years hands-on fleet mechanical experience.
Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment a must.
Desire to have a career path in Fleet and/or Maintenance Management.
Must speak fluent English. Bilingual (spanish)
Must be eligible to work in the United States
