Trailer Mechanic

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Trailer Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of heavy duty trailer units. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair, with the ability to read schematics and align various components effectively. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy duty trailers and travel trailers, including brake systems, electrical systems, and suspension components.
• Fabricate parts as needed to ensure proper functionality of trailers.
• Align wheels and axles to manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct tire service, including installation, rotation, and balancing.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
• Assemble and disassemble trailer components as required during repairs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year's experience as a Trailer Mechanic or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with heavy duty and travel trailer equipment is a plus.
• Proficiency in vehicle maintenance practices and repair techniques.
• Ability to work with forklift equipment effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
