Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Trailer Mechanic, where you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of trailers and equipment. Duties
- Diagnose and repair trailer systems including brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical components using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform routine maintenance such as LBTA's, DOT's, tire services, wheel alignments, and inspections on trailers and periodically truck's as needed.
- Fabricate parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure trailers meet operational standards
- Maintain detailed service records including inspection reports, repair logs, and compliance documentation
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of trailers and industrial equipment during repairs or upgrades
- Utilize work van to go on the road for repairs periodically at various yards in Sparks and out of town in emergency situations
- Proven experience as a trailer mechanic
- Knowledge of schematics, electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, tires and other trailer components required
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and other maintenance tools
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Familiarity with service technician procedures for brake repair, tire service, alignment adjustments, and vehicle maintenance
- Experience working with heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes or farm equipment is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with communication skills to work effectively with office staff and drivers
