Cable Technician

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.

Outsource is seeking experienced Cable Technicians (Tech 2 and Tech 3 levels) to join our team supporting projects throughout Idaho and surrounding regions. This role requires 3-5 years of hands-on cable installation and troubleshooting experience, along with the flexibility to travel for assignments lasting up to three weeks at a time. We are looking for dependable professionals ready to work on structured cabling and network infrastructure projects in a variety of field environments.

Job Responsibilities

Install, terminate, and test structured cabling including copper and fiber optic systems
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to guide installation work
Troubleshoot and repair cabling issues to ensure optimal network performance
Label, organize, and document cable runs in accordance with industry standards
Coordinate with project leads and other technicians to meet installation timelines
Perform quality control checks and testing using cable certification tools
Travel to various job sites for extended assignments up to three weeks at a time

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience as a Cable Technician or in a similar structured cabling role
Proficiency with copper and fiber optic cable installation and termination
Working knowledge of cable testing equipment and certification processes
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on ladders or lifts as needed
Willingness and ability to travel for multi-week assignments
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in fast-paced environments

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay range of $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and project requirements
