Ground Operations Worker and Driver

Description

We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded worker who is ready to put in an honest day’s work as a Tree Service Groundman & Driver. This is a physical, fast-paced outdoor job for someone who takes pride in working with a crew, keeping job sites clean, and getting the job done right. Tree-service experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic and a good attitude.
What You’ll Do

  • Drive company trucks and tow trailers to and from job sites safely.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload tools, equipment, brush, logs, and debris.
  • Drag brush, feed the chipper, rake, shovel, and complete job-site cleanup.
  • Assist climbers and equipment operators by handling ropes, tools, and rigging as directed.
  • Set up cones, signs, and work zones to help protect the crew, customers, and public.
  • Operate chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, and other tools when trained and authorized.
  • Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
  • Follow all company safety rules and applicable OSHA, ANSI, and DOT requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with crew members and treat customers and property with respect.
  • Help with storm cleanup, emergency work, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • No DUI history.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to understand instructions, work safely, and stay alert around moving equipment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, and uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to work well as part of a crew and maintain a professional attitude.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and carry heavy items.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, squat, twist, pull, push, and climb.
  • Work around loud equipment, wood chips, sawdust, traffic, and changing job-site conditions.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
Nice to Have, Not Required
  • Previous tree service, landscaping, construction, farming, logging, or outdoor labor experience.
  • Experience driving trucks and towing trailers.
  • Experience with chainsaws, brush chippers, ropes, trailers, or small-engine equipment.
What We Offer
  • Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
  • Consistent, full-time work.
  • On-the-job training and opportunities to learn equipment operation and tree-care skills.
  • Safety equipment provided.
  • Opportunities for advancement for dependable employees.
  • Paid Time Off
