Truck Mechanic/ Construction Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled mechanic with at least 5 years of experience. The ideal candidate owns their tools, is proficient in welding, and can work on Class 8 trucks, medium-duty trucks (F-450s, F-550s), and construction equipment. Responsibilities include full-service maintenance, brake changes, chassis lubrication, electrical work on trailers (rewiring and electric brakes), air brake systems, and full repairs on construction equipment. Additionally, you must be proficient in conducting 90-day inspections.

Key Responsibilities
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailer systems, including:
o Air brake systems
o Tires and wheel assemblies
o Suspension components

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers and construction equipment
• Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
• Respond to road calls to troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field
• Repair and replace defective parts, components, or systems
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with OSHA and company safety policies

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a trailer mechanic, diesel mechanic, or construction equipment mechanic
• Knowledge of air brake systems (required)
• Experience with tire repair and replacement
• Familiarity with general mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• has own tools

Required License

• Valid Class C Driver’s License required
• Must be able to operate company vehicles for road calls and off-site repairs

Preferred Qualifications
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in outdoor conditions for extended periods
