Truck Wash & Maintenance Tech - 1099 position weekly Saturdays

We’re hiring a Truck Wash & Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet clean, road-ready, and moving efficiently through the yard. This role washes each truck on a bi-weekly rotation, performs basic maintenance checks weekly, and moves trucks/trailers around the yard as needed — including hooking and unhooking containers.

Responsibilities:

Truck Washing

Wash each fleet vehicle on a set bi-weekly schedule (exterior, cab, engine bay as applicable)
Follow safety checklist before washing: confirm all lights and electrical accessories are off, hood secured properly during wash
Inspect trucks after washing for cleanliness and any new damage; report findings
Maintain a wash log per vehicle
Basic Maintenance

Check fluid levels (oil, coolant, washer fluid, DEF) and top off as needed
Check tire pressure and tread condition
Visual inspection of belts, hoses, and lights for obvious wear or damage
Check battery terminals for corrosion
Document findings and flag any issues for the mechanic or maintenance coordinator
Assist with light maintenance tasks as directed (wiper blades, bulbs, etc.)
Yard/Vehicle Movement

Move trucks and trailers within the yard as needed (positioning for wash, maintenance, or loading)
Hook and unhook containers/trailers safely
Perform pre-trip/pre-move safety checks before moving any vehicle
Follow yard traffic and safety rules at all times
General

Keep wash and maintenance areas clean and organized

Follow all safety protocols, especially around electrical components during washing
Maintain accurate records of work performed per vehicle
Qualifications:

Active Class A CDL required — used regularly to move trucks and trailers within the yard
Clean driving record
Prior experience washing or performing basic maintenance on commercial vehicles preferred
Experience hooking/unhooking trailers and containers preferred
Comfortable with physical work outdoors, all weather conditions
Able to lift 50 lbs and climb in/out of trucks repeatedly
Detail-oriented with basic recordkeeping habits
Must pass background check, driving record check, and drug screen
