New Orleans Mechanical Pros is a trusted mechanical and plumbing contractor serving homeowners, businesses, and builders throughout the Greater New Orleans area. Our reputation is built on quality workmanship, safe job sites, and crews who take pride in doing the job right the first time. As our workload continues to grow, we are expanding our plumbing division and are actively hiring to build two complete underground plumbing crews.

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced, dependable plumbers who specialize in underground and below-grade work. Successful candidates will handle sewer, water, and drainage installations and repairs on residential, commercial, and new construction projects. This is an opportunity to join a growing company with steady work, strong leadership, and room for advancement.

We are Master Plumbers looking for workers

Underground Plumbers – Experienced plumbers with below-grade installation background
Plumber’s Helpers / Apprentices – Motivated individuals with field experience and a desire to grow

Key Responsibilities

Install, repair, and replace underground sewer lines, water service lines, and storm drainage systems
Perform under-slab rough-ins for residential and commercial new construction
Excavate and trench safely, including proper shoring, bedding, and backfill
Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and plumbing drawings
Establish and maintain correct grade and slope on drain and sewer lines
Locate and repair breaks, collapses, and root intrusion in existing lines
Tie into municipal sewer and water mains in coordination with local authorities
Conduct pressure testing, water testing, and prepare work for inspection
Coordinate utility locates through Louisiana 811 before any digging
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
Communicate professionally with customers, general contractors, and inspectors

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of underground plumbing experience (5+ years preferred for Crew Leads)
Louisiana State Plumbing Board license required for Crew Lead positions; licensed Journeymen strongly preferred for plumber roles
Solid working knowledge of PVC, ABS, cast iron, PEX, and copper piping systems
Understanding of the Louisiana State Plumbing Code and local inspection requirements
Experience operating mini excavators, backhoes, or skid steers is a strong plus
Familiarity with OSHA trench and excavation safety standards (OSHA 10 or 30 preferred)
Ability to work outdoors in Louisiana heat and varying weather conditions
Ability to lift 75+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must pass a background check and drug screening
