Prime Utility Piping / Get It Dug is looking for another person to join our underground utility and directional drilling crew.

You do NOT have to already be a plumber.

We are interested in people with backgrounds in:

• Plumbing or plumbing apprenticeship
• Irrigation
• Landscaping / landscape construction
• Underground utilities
• Excavation
• Construction
• Equipment operation
• Mechanical or hands-on work

If you’re dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable working outdoors and want to learn a skilled trade, we’re willing to train the right person.

Texas Plumbing Apprentices, Tradesmen and Journeyman Plumbers are also strongly encouraged to apply. Pay will reflect experience, skills and license level.

WHAT WE DO

We specialize in underground utility installation and horizontal directional drilling (HDD).

Our work includes water services, gas lines, sewer/force mains, electrical conduit, sleeves and other underground piping.

A typical job involves loading and organizing equipment, traveling from our Northwest Fort Worth shop to the jobsite, setting up the directional drill, digging or excavating access pits, drilling from pit to pit, connecting and pulling pipe, cleaning up and returning to the shop.

This is physical outdoor construction, but it is not simply digging holes all day.

We use excavators and other equipment when practical. Some access pits and utility exposures require hand digging, so you need to be willing to use a shovel, get in a ditch, work around mud and help wherever needed.

A lot of the job is setting up equipment, handling and connecting pipe, assisting with directional drilling, locating the drill head, operating tools, organizing materials and traveling between the shop and jobsites.

LEARN A SKILLED TRADE

• PEX, polyethylene, PVC and conduit installation
• Excavator and equipment operation

• Plumbing and mechanical skills
• Jobsite setup and organization

If you don’t currently have a Texas Plumbing Apprentice registration but you’re a good fit, we can help get you registered and started toward a plumbing career.

The owner is a Texas Master Plumber with 30 years of experience. You’ll have an opportunity to learn from someone who has spent his career in plumbing, underground utilities and construction—not simply work as a laborer.

Our goal isn’t to keep somebody as a helper forever. We want someone who can learn the work, become more valuable and eventually take on additional responsibility in the field.

• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Able to pass a background check
• Reliable transportation to our Boat Club Rd. shop
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Comfortable with physical outdoor work
• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
• Organized and able to keep track of tools and materials
• Willing to learn
• Able to work independently and as part of a small crew

Mechanical ability is a big plus.

If you’re the kind of person who can use tools, maintain equipment, change oil, troubleshoot basic problems and generally figure out how things work, we’d like to hear from you.

English or Spanish speakers are welcome. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.

PAY

$18–$26/hour depending on experience, skills and plumbing license/registration.

Entry-level candidates with a good work history and the right attitude are welcome.

Experienced underground utility workers, Plumbing Apprentices, Tradesmen and Journeyman Plumbers may qualify toward the higher end of the range.

LOCATION

Our shop is on Boat Club Rd. in Northwest Fort Worth / Lake Worth.

We start our workdays from the shop and travel to jobs from there.

This is especially convenient for people living around Lake Worth, White Settlement, Saginaw, Azle, Haslet, Eagle Mountain, Springtown and Northwest Fort Worth.
