Blind Stitch is a family-owned, third-generation custom upholstery and drapery workroom specializing in high-end, custom-made furniture and soft furnishings for interior designers.

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Upholstery Seamstress to join our growing production team.

This position is for someone who genuinely knows their craft — someone who can confidently operate industrial sewing machines, work with a variety of upholstery fabrics, and produce beautifully finished work with precision and consistency.

What You'll Be Doing

Cutting and sewing fabric for upholstered sofas, chairs, sectionals, banquettes, cushions, and other furniture.
Fabricating custom cushions & pillows.
Working with a wide variety of upholstery fabrics, including challenging patterns, textures, leather and other specialty materials.
Installing zippers, piping, decorative stitching, and other upholstery details.
Creating patterns, interpreting shop drawings and maintaining accurate seam allowances.
Working closely with our upholsterers and production team to ensure an exceptional finished product.
Maintaining consistent quality while working efficiently to meet production schedules.
What We're Looking For

Professional experience sewing specifically for upholstery is required. This is not an entry-level sewing position.
Strong proficiency with all types of industrial sewing machines (straight stitch, overlock, double top stitch, walking foot)
Experience sewing furniture cushions and upholstered components with a keen eye for detail
Excellent understanding of fabric behavior, grain direction, pattern matching, and construction techniques.
Ability to work accurately with measurements and fractions.
Exceptional attention to detail and pride in clean, precise workmanship.
Ability to work independently and maintain a productive pace without sacrificing quality.
Dependability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
A professional who is confident in their abilities but always open to learning and improving.
Compensation & Schedule

$24–$30 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated skill.

Full-time, year-round position

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
Established, professional workroom in Boca Raton

Responsabilidades

Cortar y coser telas para sofás, sillas, seccionales, banquetas, cojines y otros muebles tapizados.
Confeccionar cojines y almohadas decorativas a medida.
Trabajar con una amplia variedad de telas de tapicería, incluyendo telas con patrones complejos, diferentes texturas, cuero y otros materiales especiales.
Colocar cremalleras (zíperes), vivos o ribetes, costuras decorativas y otros detalles de tapicería.
Crear patrones, interpretar planos de fabricación y mantener medidas y márgenes de costura precisos.
Colaborar con nuestros tapiceros y el equipo de producción para garantizar acabados de excelente calidad.
Mantener un alto nivel de calidad y productividad, cumpliendo con los tiempos de producción.
