Upholstery Technician (Commercial Fitness Equipment)

About Us

Exer-Tech, Inc. has serviced commercial fitness equipment across the Greater Houston area since 1989. Our clients include gyms, apartment communities, hotels, corporate fitness centers, and country clubs. We are hiring a full-time Upholstery Technician to re-cover and repair pads, benches, and seats on commercial fitness equipment. This is steady, year-round work with no nights and no weekends.

What You Will Do

• Measure, cut, sew, and fit vinyl and Naugahyde covers using an industrial sewing machine
• Cut and replace foam, prep pad boards, and staple new covers in our Katy shop
• Drive to client locations around Greater Houston to remove worn pads and install finished ones
• Photograph and log completed work in our service software
• Keep the shop organized and maintain tools and equipment

What We Are Looking For

• Experience on an industrial sewing machine (walking foot)
• Experience upholstering with vinyl, Naugahyde, or similar materials. Auto trim, marine, furniture, and commercial upholstery backgrounds are all welcome
• Skilled with hand tools and electric staple guns
• Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record. You must be insurable under our company auto policy
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, with frequent bending, kneeling, and standing. Heavier items are moved with a team lift
• Professional appearance and courteous manner. You will work inside client facilities and represent our company
• Able to pass a background check
• Authorized to work in the United States

Nice to Have

• Pattern making and template experience
• Bilingual English and Spanish

Pay and Benefits

• $18 to $23 per hour, based on experience
