Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to support an autonomous vehicle fleet in Las Vegas. This position requires hands-on experience performing automotive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.

The technician will work closely with shop and engineering teams to identify vehicle issues, complete repairs, document service work, and ensure vehicles are safe and ready for testing and operations.

⚠️ REQUIRED AUTOMOTIVE EXPERIENCE
Applicants MUST have at least 2 years of hands-on automotive technician experience.

This means actual experience performing vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.

This requirement is mandatory. Candidates whose experience is limited primarily to oil changes, tire changes, detailing, customer service, service advising, or front-desk work will not meet the requirements for this position.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and fleet reworks
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical vehicle issues
Diagnose and repair electrical components
Manage repairs from initial diagnosis through resolution and final sign-off
Work with engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex vehicle issues
Develop and follow diagnostic test plans
Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Verify vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready for testing
Maintain an organized and safe workshop
Assist with tool control, parts tracking, and facility upkeep
Manage multiple vehicles, repairs, priorities, and deadlines

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of hands-on automotive technician experience
Hands-on experience with automotive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of vehicle systems, tools, parts, and repair techniques
Automotive electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to clearly document service and repair work
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass an MVR check, background check, and drug screening
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or sit for extended periods
Ability to work onsite and travel locally as needed
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, structured environment
Willingness to obtain forklift and/or gantry operator certification after hire

Preferred Experience

Automotive dealership or OEM experience
Automotive R&D or engineering laboratory experience
Familiarity with CAN systems and wiring diagrams
Soldering experience
High-voltage battery experience or certification
Automotive technical school certification or associate degree in automotive repair
Trailer-towing experience
