Description

Versatile Fabricator – Carpentry / CNC Router / Assembly / Installs (Burbank)

BloqLab is a custom fabrication shop in Burbank building the booths, branded environments, kiosks, and experiential activations you see at major events. Our work has shown up at CES, NRF, the Super Bowl, and Shoptalk, for brands worldwide. We take projects from raw material to finished, client-ready builds — and we're looking for a versatile fabricator to help us do it.
This is a multi-hat role for someone who likes variety. One day you might be running the CNC router and building millwork; the next you're assembling LED lighting and hardware into a booth; the next you're on a client site for an install. If you take pride in craftsmanship and want to see your work standing on a show floor in front of real brands, this is a strong fit.
It's also a client-facing role. You'll represent BloqLab on site and in the shop, so clear communication and a professional, solutions-oriented attitude matter as much as your hands-on skills.

What you'll do

Shop & fabrication

Operate the CNC router to cut and shape components (this is machine operation, not programming — cut files are provided, and we'll train the right person)
Build and assemble millwork and cabinetry components
Perform laminations and finish work
General carpentry: framing, trim, fixtures, and custom builds

Assembly & integration

Assemble LED lighting, hardware, and electrical components into builds
Build and assemble tradeshow booths and exhibit structures
Mount and integrate hardware components

On-site installation

Travel to client sites for installs, setup, and teardown
Represent BloqLab professionally and communicate clearly with clients and event staff

What we're looking for
2+ years in carpentry, millwork, cabinetry, or shop fabrication
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and schematics
Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and shop safety procedures
Strong communication skills and a client-ready, professional demeanor
Reliable, punctual, adaptable, and able to lift 50+ lbs
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for on-site installs

Nice to have (or we'll train you)

CNC router operating experience — happy to train a strong carpenter who hasn't run one
Exhibit, tradeshow, event production, or scenic build background
Lamination and finishing experience
LED / low-voltage wiring or hardware assembly experience

Compensation: $20–$30/hour, depending on experience · Full-time
Interested? Send a brief note about your background and why this role fits, along with any experience in fabrication, woodworking, exhibits, or event production. Photos or examples of past work are a big plus — we want to see what you've built. Check out our work at bloqlab.com.
